Saanen goats are considered to be the best animal in milk production throughout the world today. It is easily adjusted in the Mediterranean climate as well as in a variety of weather conditions depending on unit installations.

Goat’s milk is mainly used in the production of the famous and well known Cyprus cheese, “Halloumi”. It is also used in the production of other types of cheese and in some European countries cheese coming from goat’s milk is especially preferred.

Α Saanen goat gives birth in average to two (2) young ones, that are of excellent meat quality.

An adult male Saanen goat weights about 70-90 kg and an adult female goat weights about 60-70 kg.
